UCE originated in 1957 as United Steel Erectors, Inc., a company specializing in structural and pre-engineered steel buildings. In 1979, United Steel Erectors, Inc. was purchased by Breakell & Ives Inc., the company name was changed to UCE and its services expanded to include commercial construction and renovation as well as civil and structural engineering. Jack Baer, a former Vice President of the company, purchased it in 1994. Today, Mr. Baer is sole owner of UCE, a full-service construction and design/build resource recognized for quality, professionalism and value.
